Acceptable Use & Community Rules

Last updated: 17 September 2026

MatchMyMarketer only works if people are genuine with each other. These rules apply to both businesses and marketers, and they form part of our Terms & Conditions.

Be genuine

  • Use your real name and real business details.
  • Don't impersonate another person, business or brand.
  • Don't create fake profiles or fake briefs.
  • Don't overstate or invent experience, qualifications, clients or results.
  • Only upload portfolio work, logos, images or case studies you have permission to use.
  • Only post reviews based on your genuine experience.

Be respectful

  • Keep messages professional and relevant to the work.
  • No harassment, abuse, discrimination or inappropriate content.
  • No spam, bulk pitching or repeated unwanted contact after someone has said no.
  • Reply honestly — if you're not interested or not available, it's fine to say so.

Respect information

  • Use contact details and business information only for the opportunity they were shared for.
  • Don't add people to marketing lists without their permission.
  • Treat non-public business information as confidential.
  • Don't scrape, harvest or bulk-extract profiles, briefs or other platform data.

Don't misuse the platform

  • No unlawful activity, and don't ask anyone else to do anything unlawful.
  • Don't use briefs to obtain free work, ideas or strategy with no genuine intention to hire.
  • Don't deliberately mislead another user about scope, budget, capability or timescales.
  • Don't attempt to bypass platform safeguards, security, access controls or subscription arrangements.
  • Don't do anything that could damage the platform, its reputation or other users.

What happens if someone breaks the rules

We look into every report. Depending on what we find, we may ask for more information, issue a warning, remove content or a review, restrict features, suspend an account or remove it entirely. Serious cases may be reported to the relevant authorities.

We can investigate misuse of the platform, but we can't settle commercial disputes about the marketing work itself — that sits between the business and the marketer.

Reporting something

Use the report an issue form or email matchmymarketer@gmail.com. Tell us who or what the report is about, what happened and when, and include screenshots if you have them. We'll keep your report confidential as far as we reasonably can.
